News2008 Sussex Lodge no 17 will be meeting at Lewes masonic temple from February. See venue page for pictures. Easter Bazaar- Sunday 9th March (further details to be announced). This will be held at our HQ at 402 Finchley Road, Childs Hill, London NW2 2HR. An ideal opportunity for anyone interested in women's freemasonry to come along and meeet us! HFAF Building Fund We are currently looking at the most effective way of enlarging the premises and once plans have been fully costed we shall know our fund raising target for 2008 Charity Please look on our Charity page for news of our Charity work Bridge Classes 2007 saw the establishment of a very successful Bridge class at 402 Finchley Road, which is open to everyone , from beginners upwards. We have qualified instructors and all are welcome The class is held every Monday from 11am to 2pm and the cost per session is £8, which includes refreshments. 2007 Public Relations There was an interview with our Grand Master, the Most Worshipful Bro Sheila Norden in the March issue of Freemasonry Today. There was also an interview in the Edgware Times of 22nd February 2007, written by Caron Kemp. Building Fund Plans are made to enlarge the premises at 402 Finchley Road Lodge News Costa Blanca Lodge of Tranquility was delighted that Most Wor Bro Sheila Norden, the Most Wor Grand Master was for the first time able to attend their Installation meeting and social evening in October. 2006 Enthronement of the Grand MasterMost Worshipful Bro Sheila Norden was enthroned as Grand Master on 26th January 2006 . It was a wonderful day for all concerned. The ceremony was attended by members of all our Lodges and a wonderful day was enjoyed culminating in a magnificent banquet in the evening. In Memoriam Most Wor Past Grand Master - Evelyne Barclay A very moving Memorial Service was held at 402 Finchley Road on Thursday 19th October in loving memory of our Past Grand Master Most Wor Bro Evelyne Barclay. HFAF Charity Our charity was the recipient of £43,117 from the estate of Rt Wor Bro Edith Saunders which enabled us to make a large donation to Teenage Cancer Trust for the purpose of fully equipping a room with everything needed for chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments and pain relief. So allowing a patient to receive and entertain visitors whilst receiving treatment. 2005 HFAF - The Search for new HQ Our search for a new Headquarters was successful and we have now purchased a building in NW London. The building is already in use for meetings and on 20th November 2005, the building was officially opened by the well known actor Robert Powell and his wife Babs, and the mayor of Barnet and on behalf of our Charity received a cheque for £150,000 representing the amount which HFAF had raised for charity in the last ten years.
